I have been taking gelatine for my arthritis for nearly 20 years now. While I stay on it I need no extra medication from the doctor. I recently had a 3 week trip away and did not take the gelatine with me.
Towards the end I had stiffness and soreness returning, especially when getting up. I swear by this stuff and am delighted to find it’s readily available through Healthy and Agile. I am excited to try their Jointvital.
My horse, Grey Label or “Dennis” as we call him, is a talented Novice eventer I am hoping to take through to the advanced grades. However, it has been a battle all the way – not because of any performance problem but simply because of his ghastly hooves!
He has always had the most shocking, brittle feet of any horse I have ever owned. His feet seem to be constantly disintegrating before our very eyes. Trying to keep his feet holding together to stand up to the distance and rigours of an event preparation has been, to say the least, very stressful.
Prior to the Kooralbyn Three Day Event 1999, I was feeding Dennis a very expensive mixture of other commercial products.
Then I got onto Davis Gelatine, which I have been feeding Dennis for six months now.
Even up to six weeks ago I was sceptical but the new growth looked good and his feet are at last showing signs of improvement.
The test came at his last showing when my long-suffering farrier, Wayne Morrow, remarked that the nails actually felt like they were driving into proper hoof!
And best of all Dennis can now be shod every six weeks instead of every four weeks without his feet falling to bits.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Gelatine to anyone having hoof problems.
Based on this information and after using other products on the market in the past, we started using gelatine about 12 months ago to care for our horses hooves and we have been astounded by the results. We have no more cracking, flaking or brittle hooves. Our horse’s hooves are tough, healthy and look great.
Our farrier is constantly amazed at the change in our horses’ hooves! It makes his job so much easier.
The rough and tumble of Eventing, constant shoeing all year round and the tough Australian climatic conditions punishes horses’ hooves. It is important that the product you feed every day works – and we believe wholeheartedly that THIS ONE DOES!
We are on a large outback property in dry and tough conditions and on very hard ground. I currently have 3 youngsters (3yo) and 4 older horses on EquineVital. One youngster had bad feet prior and has now improved out of sight. The others, while not specifically having bad feet have great feet requiring no extra special attention and they all have amazing coats and are growing exceptionally well.
The older mob has improved to the point where I have stopped giving Pentosan and glucosamine. My husband’s quarter horse who is 17 and was showing pronounced arthritic changes has improved mobility nearly 100%!! He was probably the worst of the mob and has shown the most dramatic improvement.
My competition mare is moving more freely and a mare I have who went through a fence and has been on EquineVital has healed both at skin and joint and tendon level, far above expectation. This product is gold!
As a multiple group one winning trainer, I have used a gelatine supplement on two of my successful horses who have suffered from hoof problems.
Master Musician raced from age 2 till 10 years of age and suffered from contracted heals which caused quarter cracks and laminae separation. Robert used gelatine throughout Master Musician’s racing career and found his hooves improved dramatically and the recovery time between each injury was halved. Master Musician went on to win $1.9 Million during his racing career.
Panky’s Pacer was another one of Roberts’s horses that suffered from contracted heals. With the help of gelatine he went on to win 12 races.
I have 2 very large horses, a Cleveland Bay (Anzac) and a Clydsedale (TJ) and while the CB has always had reasonably good black feet, the Clydie has not. I have been feeding EquineVital for nearly 3 months and am delighted by the change in TJ’s hooves in particular.
As well as the soles becoming less chalky, TJ’s hooves are less brittle, therefore far less prone to breaking off and noticeably so as my new farrier commented on how nice it was to see such good feet on such large horses. EquineVital is a regular part of my feeding regime.
Riding for Disabled at Crowson Park has been using gelatine in our horses feeds for about four years.
We first started adding it to our feeds when we acquired an aged Appaloosa gelding to join our riding team. He had very ‘shaley’ hooves which would crack, split and break terribly.
As the saying goes ‘No foot, no horse’. We knew it was vital to find a solution. Despite our farrier trimming them regularly and us applying oils etc, the condition was not going away.
As some volunteers at the centre had experience with their own horses who had encountered this type of problem before and had seen excellent results by feeding gelatine it was decided to give it a go.
Knowing it was a pure, natural supplement and absolutely no harmful chemicals added we decided it was worth a try.
It was the answer to his problem. His hooves are now strong and tough.
As all our horses are getting on in age we add it to all their feeds, as it is known for its helpfulness for joints as well.
Our horses are all ridden in their lessons barefoot without the need for shoeing. Our only regret is…..we didn’t take before and after photographs of the amazing transformation.
